Reports
Which marketplace reports do I upload?
- Amazon: the Merchant Tax Report (MTR), both B2B and B2C, for the month, from Seller Central's tax reports.
- Flipkart: the Sales Report, or the GSTR-1 / GSTR-8 tax report, from Seller Hub's reports section.
- Meesho: the GST report zip (tcs_sales and tcs_sales_return) and the tax invoice details, from the Supplier Panel.
- Myntra: the GST / sales report from the partner portal.
Upload them exactly as downloaded: xlsx, xls, csv or zip. Don't open and re-save them, and don't rename columns. File names don't matter.
A file shows "not needed" under Detected as
That sheet isn't a sales report (for example a "Help" or summary sheet inside the same workbook). It's skipped. If a sales report itself shows "not needed", raise a request and attach nothing yet; we'll ask for a sample.
I sell on more than one marketplace. Do I process them separately?
No. Drop all the reports for the period together. Lekhafy combines them into one GSTR-1 per GSTIN.
Why do I see "Document date is outside the return period"?
Marketplaces count an order in the month it shipped or was delivered, so a few orders placed in the last days of the previous month appear in this month's report. It's a warning, not an error. The JSON is still made, and these orders are reported in this period, matching the marketplace's TCS.
GSTR-1 JSON and the GST portal
How do I upload the JSON on the GST portal?
Log in at gst.gov.in → Returns Dashboard → choose the period → GSTR-1 → Prepare Offline → Upload → choose the JSON file. Wait for the status to change from "In progress" (it can take 15–30 minutes), then check the summary and file the return.
Monthly or quarterly (QRMP)?
Pick the frequency you've chosen on the portal. For quarterly, pick any month of the quarter; Lekhafy reads all three months and makes one JSON for the quarter.
The portal says "Processed with Error"
On the portal, click Download error report. In Lekhafy open Portal errors, drop that file in, and follow the fix shown for each error. Corrections you save are applied automatically every time after that. Then process the reports again and upload the new JSON.
"Invalid HSN" or an HSN warning
The HSN on your marketplace listing isn't in the GST portal's HSN list, usually a typo. Lekhafy suggests valid codes under the same heading. Enter the right one under Correct HSN codes (or in Portal errors), and fix the listing on the marketplace too.
What is the TCS GSTIN for Table 14?
It's the marketplace's TCS registration for your state, with 'C' as the 14th character. Find it on the portal under Returns → TCS and TDS credit received. Meesho's is read from its report; enter Amazon's and Flipkart's once and Lekhafy remembers them.
Does Lekhafy file my return?
No. Lekhafy prepares the JSON and the GSTR-3B figures. You upload the JSON and file the return yourself, so please check the summary on the portal before filing.
Plans and account
How are invoices counted for my plan?
Each sales invoice or credit note in a return period counts once. Processing the same period again doesn't count twice. For a quarterly return the limit is three months' worth.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel any time from Plan & billing. Your plan stays active until the end of the paid month. See the refund and cancellation policy for when we refund.
Is my data safe?
Your reports are processed on our server in India and the results are saved only to your account. We never share them. You can delete your account and all saved data from Plan & billing. See the privacy policy.
